I am , graduate in Computer Science and Information Systems from University Of Kentucky, with prime focus on Embedded Systems and Network Programming. The intent of this mail is to express my interest in available Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer opportunity.
As a part of the Masters Curriculum, I took more courses related to Embedded Systems, Computer Networks, and Operating Systems. During this time I handled projects related to network programming and embedded software development. In embedded software development, I worked on developing a device driver for C8051F040 board to drive the CAN bus. This module sends/receives the packets on CAN bus. During this development I also used to work with my team mates helping them integrate the driver with MicroC RTOS and also advise couple of undergrad students working on this project. As a part of my undergrad project I assisted a team developing a pre-emptive real-time kernel and certain embedded applications for AVR 8515 microcontroller. So I have been exposed to various embedded software development tools and techniques during that time.
Also as a part of my course work I handled the development of a server less WAN file system alone, and was appreciated by my professor for the results. I implemented the concepts of semaphores and caching strategies to make the file system more efficient. I also implemented some IPC mechanisms like shared memory, sockets, pipes, message queues successfully during various instances to complete my projects. Apart from these, speaking of software development I designed and developed the software to evaluate the W3C guidelines for Alzheimer patients in Java at my University.
As a Summer Intern I Worked for Agere Systems, in summer 2005 and completed the project successfully on time. Next summer 2006 I worked as intern for Agere Systems as IC Design Verification Engineer. I worked on developing test vectors for evaluating the performance of NAS chip and on modifying an existing disk model and also running some test cases on Palladium machine. So this was one good opportunity where I got exposed to industry environment and work on cutting edge technologies.
My meticulous effort fetched my a full time job after I was asked for a presentation regarding my learning curve in front of Agere Systems directors and managers. That was truly a joyful moment for me when I was selected from among 28 interns that year, and I have been working there since then. I worked on designing and developing performance models, test vectors, test benches for embedded processor sub-systems on various projects using several languages and development and debugging tools. All this exposure helped me strengthen my skill set and come up the learning curve.
As a candidate with relatively strong academic background, relevant experience in embedded, networks and operating systems concepts I am confident that I could make a positive and productive contribution to the team. I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me at (M) or . Thank you for your time and attention.
